E2 and E3 Series Tohoku Shinkansen at Koriyama Station
I spotted at least four different liveries on the Tohoku Shinkansen. Maybe I'll get these in color next time. It was just such harsh lighting that black and white was turning out much better.
E6 Series Akita Shinkansen at Koriyama Station
Didn't get to ride the red bullet train on this trip. Maybe next time.
Koriyama Station taxi stand at night
I'll say it again: Koriyama taxis have the best liveries I've seen in Japan so far.

Parting shot from Lake Inawashiro
Spiders at Lake Inawashiro at dusk
I thought I was done shooting, but then this scene caught my attention. This was taken handheld. Exactly why I got a couple fast prime lenses.
Dusk over Mt. Bandai and Lake Inawashiro
Will have to try these kinds of shots again with an ND filter to compare the difference.
Dusk with crescent moon at Lake Inawashiro
This came out pretty good. Definitely better than the shot where a dragonfly decided to rest on the inside of the lens hood.
Dusk at Lake Inawashiro
An ND filter would make the water even smoother, but I'm pretty happy with this.
Red sky over Lake Inawashiro
The weather was very cooperative the day I visited this lake.
Orange sun over Lake Inawashiro
A frame from my first attempt at a sunset timelapse video
Low afternoon sun over Lake Inawashiro
The camera captures scenes that would melt human eyes.
Visitors wait for sunset at Lake Inawashiro
Looks like I found the right place to come see the sunset. As well as dragonflies. Zoom in on the mountain or sky and you can see a ton of them.
Afternoon sun shining on shore of Lake Inawashiro (black and white)
Those are wind turbines in the distance.
Lake Inawashiro and Mt. Bandai
The natural beauty of Fukushima Prefecture continues to amaze.
Rice fields before harvest in Fukushima
Fukushima Prefecture grows lots and lots of rice.
Shrubbery on the Mt. Azuma-Kofuji caldera
A few small plants like this shrub inhabit the caldera's rim.
East rim of the Mt. Azuma-Kofuji caldera
It took me over an hour to get halfway around the caldera...because I was having too much fun taking pictures along the way.
Mt. Issaikyo from the Mt. Azuma-Kofuji caldera
A volcanic vent on the left side of Mt. Issaikyo spews steam right under that cloud.
Dramatic clouds over Mt. Azuma-Kofuji caldera 4
I think I'm falling in love with black and white landscape photography.
Dramatic clouds over Mt. Azuma-Kofuji caldera 3
The caldera of Mt. Azuma-Kofuji offers some stunning views.
Dramatic clouds over Mt. Azuma-Kofuji caldera 2
Billowing clouds to the south made an excellent backdrop.

North rim of Mt. Azuma-Kofuji caldera
Once you reach the caldera's rim, a sign asks visitors to walk around counterclockwise.
The weather couldn't have been much better on this day.
